Imagine the peace and tranquility of the ocean, as if you’re lying down on a beach just feet away from the edge of the water. The waves tumbling over each other and the gentle breeze create a sweet harmony in your mind. This piece is my way of sharing that experience. Score for a wind ensemble, the piece takes off with smooth chords in the clarinets and low winds, transforming into a brass choir feature. The piece moves from one idea to the next, the same way the waves on the beach never stop. The climax features the whole ensemble, with the main melody and fragments from other sections. It resolves with the same brass choir from an earlier memory, resolving into a satisfying major chord.
